This study aims to investigate university students' perceptions about and attitudes towards learning a second foreign language. 60 students in English Language Teaching and German Language Teaching Departments in Dicle University participated into the study A self-report questionnaire about learning and teaching a second foreign language was administered to the participants. The data obtained from the questionnaire was analysed by means of using some statistical tests. The results of the study indicated that the students perceived the value and need of learning another foreign language and had high desire to learn it. However, the results also showed that those students did not have favorable attitudes towards the teaching methods and course syllabus in second foreign language lessons. The results will be discussed within the foreign and second language teaching frameworks.
