Almanca Öğretmenlerinin Öğrenme Sürecinde Farkındalık: Okuma Günlüklerinin Kullanımına Yönelik Bir Çalışma

In the times of rapid changes, learning is defined in terms of such concepts as 'Learning to Learn', 'Autonomuos Learning', 'Lifelong Learning' which emphasizes consciousness of the individual. As in all learning activities, in foreign language teaching, effective strategy education for building awarness should also be included in the curriculum. In this context, language skills of teachers of German should be developed, and they should understand and apply these different learning strategies while learning und teaching. During the education year 2002/2003 at Uludağ University, Faculty of Education, in the German Language and Education Department, the students, who took the Reading Skills I and II courses, documented their own reading processes and in-course interaction by means of keeping an individual reading diary. Such activities aim at developing a new way oflearning and teaching awarness of young generations of German teachers. This kind of understanding of learning and teaching requires some elementary changes in the process of teachers' and students' development and classroom activities. This study attempts to make recommendations as to how to actualize such a new application.
