This study aims to look at the Turkish Foreign language Education in the light of principles behind the Common European Framework for Languages. In the expanding European Union, development of foreign language policies cannot be separated from social policies. That is, with foreign language education policy development the EU lays the foundation of a democratic, plurilingual and socially and culturally aware society. The study looks at the concept ofplurilingualism and its place at present in the life of citizens of the EU countries.
