Contemporary people spend most of life-time at job-settings. Characteristics of these job settings define employee's job satisfaction and burnout related with their job. In this research, views of 85 academic staff related with the positive and negative properties of their job. has been investigated The participants were from different departments of Istanbul University with doctorate degree. Findings of this research revealed that self-development and scientific research opportunities and relations with students are declared as positive properties of the job, besides, unsatisfying economical conditions, limited opportunities for scientific research and negative physical conditions are declared as negative properties of the job.
