Globalization that has been getting very intense and makes the boundaries between countries disappear within the very first period of the 21st century, continue to remain being perceptible in every stage of daily life. Globalization not merely appears' over the economical, technological and commercial interactions among different countries, but also influences the relationships on the cultures of different communities. In this context, the fact of interculturalism aimed to have individuals of different communities and nations to approach to one another in a peaceful fashion by getting the relationships among different cultures engaged in a common denominator. Preconceptions, however, have been encountered from past up today as a negative aspect to affect the means of attitudes of individuals and communities to one another. The effects of those preconceptions that has become cliche and usually comprise of negatively formed opinions, might give way to hatred toward foreigners. In this study, the articles published in German and Turkish newspapers on the incidents that once happened in Mölln and Solingen in the years of 1992 and 1993 respectively and the attacks in the recent past against the Turks living in Germany, will be examined in terms of the effects of preconceptions on hatred toward foreigners.
