Foreign language Teaching has gained a considerable importance in school curriculum at present While trends determining the agenda of the world in all fields such as Globalisation make the necessity of learning minimum two foriegn languages inevitable, language policies of organizations in contact with Turkey such as European Union require foreign language education process beyond primal education. As part of the modern education's life-long learning process, teaching foreign languages at an early age and learning to learn emerge consequently as factors of primary concern in training French teachers. Projects aiming at the equivalence of University programmes in the member countries of the European Union and efforts to dertermine international levels in acquiring language skills propose opportunities to organise the content of French Language Teaching programs according to the contemporary trends. Moerover, the reconstruction of language skills of French Teachers according to 6 European levels based on ALTE or taking into consideration DELF/DALF levels is a requirement of training foriegn language teachers according to modern day principles. The aim of this presentation is to evaluate the teaching syllabuses used in training French Teachers in Turkey in light of contemporary principles. As the syllabus consistent with present day foreign language teaching concept ranges from international policies to the reality of the classroom. Today, creating and implementing a consistent and all-encompassing foreign language syllabus involves the resolution of various concepts inherent in the long process from internaional foreign language policies to the actual classroom setting.
