Skills are differences in behaviours and thoughts as a result of particular activities. For instance, finding the main idea requires activities to get the global meaning of the text. 'The question of 'What is the main idea?' can't be regarded as an activity. Therefore, an awareness of the difference between activity and skill will enrich the organization and the implementation of Turkish Language Teaching Process. Activities to combine form and meaning are required for developing students'comprehension and production skills by helping them focus on language use. Although, the Turkish Language Program is efficient in this aspect, it needs to be reflected onto practice. This study aims to analyze how compatible the text activities offered in the 6th grade Turkish Language Coursebook are with the reading skills specified in the 6th, 7th and 8th grade Turkish Language Teaching Program and the guidebook. The study examines the activities related to the story "A tale without the prince" as a case and offers a number of activities to obtain reading skills. Each activity should be based on an objective in reading comprehension process.
