In classical Turkish literature, the meaning is completed usually in couplets. However, there are examples of works in which meaning extends to other couplets or is completed in the final couplet, though less usual. A rare instance is delivering the message in the first couplet, which serves as the underlying message in the following couplets (i.e. the Ghazal). Couplet integrity could be considered in two ways: meaning integrity and grammar integrity. It is more appropriate to include such examples in Turkish Language and Literature course books in later stages of teaching rather than the earlier stages. If they are included in the earlier stages, sentence structure should be explained so that they could be understood. Otherwise, students may have difficulty in understanding the couplets and may lose their interest in the topic and lesson.
