This study seeks to develop a tool to quantify attitudes and behaviors toward financial literacy among primary school students. The study sample consisted of 457 primary school students in İstanbul. Attitude expressions based on the theoretical infrastructure of the scale were sent to external experts to ensure scope validity. In accordance with their opinions, scale items were finalized and an exploratory factor analysis (EFA) used to verify construct validity. A confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was then used to confirm this structure. According to the EFA results, a structure with 21 items and five factors was created. CFA results confirmed the five factor structure. As a result of the item analysis of the scale, the t-test values belonging to the group averages of the upper and lower 27% were found to be significant. For the whole scale, Cronbach’s alpha internal consistency coefficient was 0.827 and the Spearman Brown split half-test correlation was 0.79. On the basis of these results, the Marmara Financial Literacy Attitude and Behavior Scale can be deemed valid and reliable.
