The foundation of Turkish Republic and the following decade are of great importance for the Turkish enlightenment history. The reason for this can be explained via three perspectives including the presence of; a war worn and a daunted community, the team who created the enlightenment, and a group of people who do not confirm to the revolutions and have an opposite view. In a period sheltering many opposite views, the most important figure in experiencing such a great number of revolutions was Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Nevertheless, intellectuals were the ones who introduced these revolutions to the community, and to the following generation. It is obvious that the acceptance and the permanence of these revolutions will not be possible unless they are admitted by the community. Thus, there is a need for the presence of intellectuals who will introduce and adopt them to the community. The present study, therefore, addresses to one of these intellectuals, Mustafa Şekip Tunç, whose articles written between 1924 and 1926 focused on the definition of intellectual and science.
