The aim of this research is to investigate the correlation among the learning styles, academic success and gender of the Turkish Teacher candidates. This research had been carried out on 220 students (138 girls, 82 boys) reading at 4th class of Dokuz Eylül University Buca Education Faculty, Turkish Education Department in spring semester of 2005-2006 academic year. The data of the research had been collected by BIG 16 Learning Styles Inventory and students' transcripts for last 7 terms displaying the grades of the students. The obtained findings had been showed that the students mostly preferred the visual learning styles, and they learned better while using the visual-aural-physical learning styles together at the same time, the learning styles preferences did not differentiate meaningly according to gender, and there wasn't any meaningful correlation between the learning styles and the academic success.
