Environmental education (EE) is becoming more important in order to be aware of personal responsibility because of increasing environmental stress. One of the EE is outdoor EE. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of ecopedagogybased outdoor EE on environmental awareness. The methods of the research is one group pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design without control group. In this way, a scale is carried out to 27 participants who join to a project which’s code is 108B023 ‘Environmental Education Intended to Be Aware of Conscious of Ecology in Çanakkale and Suburb’, supported by TUBITAK. The coefficient of Cronbach reliability is 0.891. The total scores having from pretest and posttest are analysed by Wilcoxon signed rank test, and a statistically meaningful difference is found (z = -4.542; p<.001). According to this result, ecopedagogy-based outdoor EE is effective in order to increase environmental awareness.
