The aim of this study is to determine the successful student’s profile of the science teacher. For this purpose, data were collected from 317 science teachers working in public and private schools. The descriptive research design was used in this study and the science teachers were asked open-ended questions as a method of data collection. In order to enrich the qualitative data, focus group interviews were conducted with five science teachers. Participants were asked about demographic characteristics in addition to the definition of successful student. According to the study results, science teachers divided the concept of successful students into 4 themes. One of these four themes is students’ personal characteristics. Others are successful students’ behavior which they exhibited in different environments. The science teachers emphasized successful students’ characteristics as “inquires”, “have a target” and “aware of their abilities and interests”. Besides, “apply what they have learned everyday life”, “solve daily life problems”, “planned and orderly work” are defined as successful students’ behaviors. For future research, successful students’ profiles of parents, students and other teachers should be investigated.
