In a time when we experience the effects of rapid changes of the information age, relations between societies and persons have increasingly become dense. As part of this density, knowing foreign language(s) is of importance. Knowing and learning foreign language(s) is a prerequisite for living in today's multilingual and multicultural world. In this context, foreign language teacher training in Turkey has maintained its significance just like anywhere in the world. However, while discussing the developments in foreign language teaching in our country, it is a must that we focus on globalisation and European Union foreign language policies. In this paper, foreign language and foreign language teacher training policies in the new millennium in our country will be discussed on the basis of globalisation and foreign language education policies of European Union.
