The purpose of this study İs to find out teachers' views of the applicability level of experiments which are in chemistry - 1, 2 textbooks and the use of laboratory. To serve this purpose, a questionnaire included 29 items was developed and implemented to 31 chemistry teachers who were chosen from 17 schools in the city of Trabzon and some districts. In addition, semi-structured interview was carried out 7 out of 31 teachers and natural observation was carried out in laboratories. At the end of the study, it was determined that while the experiments found in chemistry 1 textbooks was suitable for students and applicable in laboratory environment, experiments in chemistry 2 textbooks was difficult to carry out for students individually and required too much pre-preparation. Besides this, it was determined that teachers were insufficient about the use of laboratory because of the various causes which was also reported in the literature.
