Today’s rapid development of Information Technologies (IT) affects every field of life. Education is one of the most affected fields among these fields. This study aims to determine and compare perspectives of the students who study at Istanbul University in different disciplines and fields about IT in education. According to the results, while approximately 88% of the participants think that courses based on IT would be required in their professional lives, 75% of the participants find IT based courses at the university inadequate. The results gained from the study give information about students’ opinions on IT and general usage of IT, opinions and expectations about IT in their education lives. It is believed that this study will stimulate further developments and improvements in IT and in the curriculum.
