At the present time, the skills which require interdisciplinary studies are being more important. The Double Major Programs (DMP) providing university students with the opportunity of interdisciplinary study as well as enabling them to have a dual degree are becoming widespread and gaining recognition. However, there are not many research studies in our literature investigating DMPs, which matters a lot. In this study considered to remedy this deficiency in the literature, students’ status, opinions and experiences about the DMPs in which they enrolled were investigated. Participants were 53 students enrolled in the DMPs of a foundation university in 2010-2011 academic year. When examined the results of the study, it was appointed that the university students prefer the second major on the purpose of acquiring more knowledge/skill and increasing the chance of finding a job. The students stated the disadvantages of studying double major as structural problems related to curriculum and courses, and heavy workload. They reflected that both majors they were studying in were compatible and this was due to the association of two majors with one another. Furthermore, they expressed that the knowledge they gained from both disciplines was consistent with each other, and because of that these two disciplines could be studied as integrated. Another result was the students considered that a guidebook and website were essential to improve the double major process and it was also beneficial to lecture the supplementary subjects integrating both disciplines.
