DÜŞÜNME STİLLERİNİN FARKLI DEĞİŞKENLER AÇISINDAN İNCELENMESİ

This research aims to determine whether pre-service teachers' thinking styles differ according to different variables such as academic departments, academic achievement, gender, parents` education level or not. The study uses survey model of descriptive method. The study was conducted by sampling 275 last grade students at Istanbul University, Hasan Ali Yücel Education Faculty. 126 students were male and 149 were female, the total population was between 21-24 age span. Data of the study were collected by means of Sternberg's Thinking Styles Inventory (TSI) and Personal Information Inquiry form. In data analysis process, mean and standard deviations were found on the different variables. To show disparity in terms of different variables, Variance analysis (F) and Tukey HSD Post Hoc tests were applied. Moreover, t-test was used to test whether there was difference between male and female students. At the end of the study, meaningful significance in terms of departments of the faculty of education, academic achievement, age, gender, fathers' education level was observed. No meaningful significance was found toward mothers' education level.
