The purpose of this research is mainly to determine some parental treatments that can be classified as child abuse, to develop a scale that will evaluate the level of abuse experienced by adolescents and to determine correlation and differences between the level of abuse and some of the demographical characteristics by applying the scale to a group of adolescents. The Scale of Child Abuse in the Family (SCAF), developed by the researcher, was used. The results of the current study on the validity and reliability of the SCAF revealed that it had all the specifications necessary for its use. Regarding the general abuse and 8 subscales there was no significant difference between giris and boys.
