The change in social, political and technological context and the development of new theoretical viewpoints regarding language learning process have caused what could pass as paradigmatic changes. Globalization, information society, multilingualism, autonomous learning and learning strategies have become significant concepts in the trends that restructure foreign language learning. This study aims to explore the above-mentioned paradigmatic changes in foreign language teaching in light of these significant concepts. The study also attempts to reveal factors that call for innovation and the relationships among them from the application standpoint.
