In Turkic societies, situations such as reorganization of old Turkish calendar and making writing widespread are strong evidences for the existence of a large educational organization. Inscriptions that are carved into stones and put on squares in order for people to see and learn lessons both in the era and throughout history show that there has been a large literate population in Turkic societies. Another evidence for the importance given to positive knowledge is Kutatgu Bilig, an 11th century piece, in Kutatgu Bilig, there are a lot of verses that are about education and the variety of topics is remarkable. Some of the topics are parentschildren relationship, child education and advices, lifelong learning, importance of learning by experience, teacher's and learner's being humans, the value of mind and knowledge, that people's level will elevate with knowledge, that people will rule the world with knowledge, the importance of book, the importance of writing what is known, relation of pen and sword, the effect of traditions, respect for labor, utilizing skills, appreciation of good character.
