In this study, Computer Education and Instructional Technology student’s opinions on distance education are examined. The sample of this study is comprised of 30 students who are studying Distance Education Computer Education and Instructional Technology Education Program in Hasan Ali Yücel Faculty of Education of İstanbul University in the spring semester of 2012-2013 academic year. The study is an example of a general survey model. The questionnaire prepared by the researchers was employed as a measurement tool. SPSS 15 software was utilized for the analysis of the data. The percentage and frequency distributions were examined in terms of statistical techniques. Age range of students who prefer distance education system was rather young and most of them were in the age of normal higher education. Furthermore, it is seen that the reason why the students preferred distance education system was that distance education does not prevent them to work in a job. Several courses in the Computer Education and Instructional Technology Education department require laboratory applications. However, majority of the distance education students think that a lot of courses that require laboratory applications and that they have to do group work do not prevent them to be successful in their courses.
