The purpose of this study focuses on the effect of teaching web-based applications of maths subject for 5th grade students’ to enhance performance and motivation. An experimental group and a control group are formed to test the extent of efficiency of the effect of teaching web-based applications of maths subject for 5th grade students’ performance and motivation. The study was applied in a private elementary school for a period of four weeks at Ankara’s Yenimahalle region in the first term of the 2013-2014 educational year. In the research, post test control group experimental design was applied. The participants of the study groups are 21 students from experimental group and 20 students from control group. At the end of the study, “Motivation Scale”, was applied in all groups as post-test. In addition to this, the students’ performance was assessed by using restricted response performance assessment forms. In the data analysis, percentage, standart deviation and t-test were used. The significance level of the analysis were taken as p< .05. The study was supported by SPSS 16 statistical programme. Throughout the research, qualitative data were gathered from different sources such as; self-assessment forms and team-assessment forms. The results of the research have revealed that the experimental group students’ performances are significantly different than the control group students’, but the web-based teaching does not have any effect on the students’ motivation.
