The aim of this study is to adapt the Network of Relationships Inventory (NRI)-Short Form (Furman and Buhrmester, 1985; 2010) to Turkish high school and university students and to examine its psychometric properties for Mother and Same-Sex Best Friend. During the language adaptation process, 5 language specialists evaluated the adaptation indexes. In the language validation study, 42 high school and university students completed both the English and Turkish forms of the questionnaire. To determine reliability and validity, 644 students were asked to participate. Then language equivalency, Exploratory (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis were examined for validity. According to EFA results, Turkish Version of the NRI has 2 factors like in English form. The fit indexes of the model in Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) are examined for Mother and Same-Sex Best Friend Form. The total and sub-areas of the Cronbach’s alpha values in the NRI are high and changes between .70 and .89. Corrected item-total correlations (between .501 and .851) are high and t-tests between items’ means of upper 27%-lower 27% points are significant. Test-retest reliability is statistically significant (r=.000-.004). According to the results, the Turkish Form of NRI Short form can be used as a reliable and valid assessment tool to assess Mother and Same Sex Best Friend relationships qualities in Turkey for high school and university students.
