The goal of this research was to examine the effect of science fiction movies on 10th grade students’ attitudes toward geography lessons. Sixty secondary school students participated in the research. During the research period, the traditional teaching method was applied in one group, while the course was taught using science fiction films with related subject content for the other group. During the 8-week experimental period, a total of 10 science fiction films were shown to students as appropriate for “Natural Systems” and “Environment and Society” learning areas. The research data were collected using the “Attitude Scale of Secondary School Geography Course” developed by Güven and Uzman. The results of the research show that geography lessons supported by science fiction movies have a positive effect on students’ attitudes toward geography lessons.
