Organizational Citizenship Behaviors (OCB) have a very critical role and importance for the organizations to succeed and be effective. That situation is same for educational organizations too. OCB are one of the basic determinants of quality education and training in the schools. OCB are behaviors desired by the organization and at the same time contribute to the organizational effectiveness and success on a voluntary basis. OCB are described as optional personal extra role behaviors that as a whole contribute to the effectiveness of an organization’s functions, and they do not take part or are not described in the formal award system. In a great number of studies, OCB have been referred to as having many positive effects from the personal and organizational perspectives. Teachers who serve at schools that have OCB, develop themselves both individually and professionally so as to be more beneficial for their students and for the school’s reaching its aims more effectively and swiftly, and continue to work tirelessly with dedication in the face of the challenges they face and make an effort for the success of the school. In this regard, the aim of the study is to present a general cognitive frame of OCB, inform about its structure and sub-dimensions, state its personal and organizational positive effects, make suggestions and inferences for educational organizations.
