This research was undertaken by the Department of Mathematics Teacher Training for Primary Education Schools, Faculty of Education, Yuzuncu Yil University to find out mathematics teachers' natural development processes and the elements which influence each of these process in Van in 2001-2002 education and training years. The participants of this research were 28 males and 5 females student-teachers, currently teaching 8 males and 8 female teachers having 1 or 2 years of teaching experience, 10 males and 3 females teachers having 3 or 4 years of teaching experience and newly-appointed teachers. The study indicates that probationary and other mathematics teachers having 1, 2, 3, and 4 years of teaching experience especially consider 36 cases (elements). It is also seen that 19 of these cases are about teachers themselves, 8 of them about the topic to be taught by the mathematics teachers in classrooms and 9 of them are about students' understanding or not understanding these topics.
