The study involves the analysis of the term projects which are part of the requirement of Masters without Thesis programs on Secondary Education Subject teacher training, offered by the Social Sciences Institute and the Natural Sciences Institute at Istanbul University. The projects were examined with respect to certain variables: if the research topic is on the chosen field of study or not; if the research area is confined to a Turkish context or not; if the research is theory or practice based; if it is compatible with the advisor's field of expertise or not. 715 Projects completed in the "The Research Project in Field Education" course in 2006- 2007 academic year, are chosen by the random sampling method and examined in detail. The current study adapts correlational model of analysis, and the data is analyzed by the Chi-square test. The statistical analyzes of the data reveals that there are meaningful correlations between the submitted researches and the variables listed above, moreover, the relation between the variables of the field of study and the type of the project has been found to be statistically meaningful.
